It was revealed last night by the Atletico Madrid cheif executive, Gill Martin that Antoine Griezmann will be joining Barcelona this summer.
He told Sport, “We have known since March that Griezmann is going to Barcelona.”
Of course, this would be a huge sigh of relief for the Arsenal fans since it clearly indicates that the Blaugrana are no longer interested in Alexandre Lacazette. With Griezmann set for a Camp Nou move, there is no further need to look for a Luis Suarez replacement.
Reports started surface immediately after the end of the 2018/19 campaign, that Barcelona were eyeing a £70-80m deal for the Arsenal striker. His impressive performances in the Premier League along with his obvious talents on the ball had made the perfect candidate to succeed into Suarez’s centre-forward role.
Now, it seems like the Gunners can rest easy about holding onto their star forward. The reports are still thrown on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer to China, however.
The Gabon international is being wooed into a move to the Far East with attractive wages worth £300,000-per-week. It is now ridiculous to see that Mesut Ozil makes more than that while staying at London but contributing so much lesser than the 29-year-old forward.
