Why Mesut Ozil Would Be A Good Fit With Inter Milan

According to Calcioland podcast host and Italian football expert, David Amoyal Mesut Ozil would be a prime fit with Inter Milan.

The Serie A outfit has previously expressed interest in the German midfielder but could not pry him away due to his obscene wage demands. The Gunners, on the other hand, matched Ozil’s asking price and handed him a £350,000-per-week contract until the summer of 2021.

Quite remarkably Unai Emery does not see the former Real Madrid player to be integral to his needs. Ozil has been absent on the pitch for the past two Premier League including the crucial 2-0 win over Chelsea and rumours have surfaced regarding a dispute between him and the manager.

With a departing Aaron Ramsey getting the nod over Ozil in the London derby, it might be time to start predicting a scenario where the latter is not at the Emirates.

Amoyal said, “I haven’t watched much of Ozil, but I’m intrigued by the debates about him on Twitter. He has been linked to Serie A clubs, particularly when his contract was expiring at Arsenal. Inter definitely considered him.”

“The problem is he wanted huge wages, and that would have had a domino effect on whatever they offered to Icardi. When I look on the pitch I could see him fitting there pretty well. Also Milan.”

“There’s a lot of people who think Juve should have more creativity so maybe there. I’m going to say Inter (the best fit).”
