William Saliba has again cast doubt over his Arsenal future by insisting he is open to remaining in France
The Gunners signed the defender in 2019, but he has yet to play for the first squad since Mikel Arteta deemed him ineligible.
In the previous year and a half, the Spanish manager has loaned him out, and he is maturing in his current temporary home, Olympique Marseille.
Has been predicted to return to the Emirates and become a key player for Arsenal, although he might possibly stay at OM after being one of their finest players this season.
In recent comments about his future, he kept the possibility of remaining with the Ligue 1 club open.
“There is always a chance. I do not hide that I am very happy in Marseille. “I have developed, I have passed a milestone. “If I make it into France’s squad it’s thanks to Marseille, because there is a lot of visibility.”
Given how far he has come this season, it is understandable that Saliba is considering staying at Marseille. The defender has thrived there, earning an international call-up.
Arsenal must now persuade him to return to London and join their first squad.
