10 players Arsenal should sign
Bildbyran

Arsenal spent a lavish amount in the transfer window this summer. However, the club are not doing so well as the fans might have expected.

Emery’s men are struggling defensively and need more reinforcements. In midfield. Xhaka needs to go. He simply does. They need new defensive screeners, attacking creators and anchor men. In attack, they are well sorted for now but Auba will need replacing in a couple of seasons.

The signing of David Luiz has been criticized and so far the critics have been proved right. He has made a weak defence look even weaker and made them more error prone. This has shown that Arsenal still need more players in their squad and a possible overhaul.

Here we will look at 10 players who Arsenal will desperately need. Now they might not be able to sign all of them, but getting a few of them or even two might make their squad decent and change the look of the outfit.

10. Nathan Ake

The former Chelsea academy product has done well for himself since leaving the club. Ake was given limited chances in a Chelsea shirt but ever since his move to Bournemouth, he has established himself as one of the better defenders. He is still young and has experience in the Premier League and the potential to play for a big team. With David Luiz not expected to last long at the Emirates, Ake could be a good long term replacement with the right coaching.

9. Toby Alderweireld

He is on the verge of leaving Tottenham Hotspr with his contract expiring next summer. Alderweireld is no longer an young defender but is still one of the better players with his wealth of experience and comfort on the ball. He can build from the back and a free coup for a player of his quality could be a vital addition to the Arsenal squad.

8. Samuel Umtiti

The Barcelona star has found it difficult of late to settle into the team. The problems complicated since the arrival of Lenglet who has been more convincing. However, Umtiti’s talent remains unquestioned and maybe a change of scenery will help the French defender get back to his best. Arsenal could be the perfect club as he will be guaranteed game time and also with Emery, he will be allowed to play out from the back something he is used to at Barcelona.

7. Declan Rice

The young midfielder from West Ham United has broken through the ranks quickly. He was another player who came through the Chelsea academy but failed to get an opportunity at the club. He has now settled in at West Ham and looks like the next big thing for England in deep midfield. With Xhaka’s horrible form getting worse, Arsenal are screaming out for an anchorman to shore up the defensive line and Rice could be a long term solution.

6. Koke

The Atletico Madrid midfielder is as versatile as they come. He has played in deep midfield, on the right flank and behind the attacker. He has come of age in Simeone’s hard working and battling side and has the impeccable technical quality to make it big. Arsenal will have to struggle to get him on board but he will be worth the money in a lacklustre Arsenal midfield.

5. Philippe Coutinho

How frustrated are Arsenal fans with Ozil? A number 10 who cannot bother to play in big matches, Ozil needs to go. The perfect man who simply thrives in that position is Brazilian Coutinho. After failing at Barca, Coutinho is still looking for a permanent home and Arsenal can lure him in with promises of high wages and regular game time.

4. Paulo Dybala

The unsettled attacker from Juventus can be another brilliant option up front for the Gunners. Aubameyang is indispensable but he is not getting any younger. Dybala will bring in a new dimension of attack and along with Pepe and Lacazette, the Arsenal attack will be set for years.

3. Wilfred Ndidi

He is a hard working midfielder who will run his socks off for the team. Arsenal missed out on Kante but a Ndidi will not be a bad addition. He is still very young and loves to run around making himself a nuisance for opposition attackers and hurry them into making mistakes.

2. Elseid Hysaj

Arsenal simply has no back-up for Bellerin and with the Spanish international out injured for so long, there is no telling how good he will be upon returning. Hysaj on the other hand is a good but frustrated player at Napoli and getting a chance to play in the Premier League will be a good move for both parties.

1. Christian Eriksen

Oh what a coup will this be. Taking a star from your arch rivals and that too for free. Not only will the move be mentally satisfying but also tactically important. Eriksen can make any team tick and with pacey attackers in front of him, he can create havoc at Arsenal for the Premier League.

Arsenal are currently suffering in the Premier League and will want to make certain changes. Emery has rightly come under criticism for his time at the club and will hope to do better. Getting the right players will be important for any team and Arsenal will want that to happen.
