27-Year-Old Arsenal Target Admits To Dreaming Of Playing In England

Arsenal’s reported target, Emil Forsberg has explained why he might no longer have a future with RB Leipzig beyond this season.

Sky Sports has linked the Swedish attacking midfielder for a potential move to the Gunners in the summer. However, even with 3 seasons left in his contract, it seems like Unai Emery can realistically get his hands on Forsberg due to the player’s age.

Forsberg, 27 will turn 30 by the time his current deal expires with the Bundesliga outfit. Leipzig is a highly energetic team who likes to keep a young core group of players.

Forsberg is still a key component of the squad but the Bulls might be motivated to cash in on him now while his value is the highest. The attacking midfielder said, “The best years are coming for me now. That’s why I’m glad that I can now fully attack again.”

“Whether I stay here until I’m 30, we’ll see. I think the club does not want thirties here. But I’m like a fine red wine, getting better with age.”

Forsberg’s care-free attitude towards his Leipzig career might be concerning for the club’s fans but he has also admitted to being happy at the Red Bull Arena.

He further added, “Every player has dreams, maybe one day he wants to play in Italy, Spain or England. But I’ve been in Leipzig for four years now, I still feel very well, I have no problems here and just think about our goals.”
