Arsenal have an absolute agreement with Real Sociedad over the sale of Nacho Monreal.

Spanish Mundo Deportivo suggests that a total agreement had been reached to take the 33-year-old to Spain on an initial two-year deal with the option of an additional year.

The transfer has been completely agreed upon between the two sides, with the Basque club paying just €250,000,000 for the left-back. Contrary to previous reports, a demand for first refusal on future Real Sociedad prospects was also withdrawn out of respect to Monreal.

It’s also been revealed it only took two meetings with the player for La Real sports chief Robert Olabe to agree personal terms. The deal will be made official after Sunday’s game as Unai Emery was reluctant to let the 33-year-old go before North London derby against Tottenham.

On Thursday, Gunners boss Unai Emery spoke about the future of Nacho Monreal and did not rule out his exit from the London club.

“His exit is a possibility”, the Basque coach confirmed. “We finish here our transfer window, and in Europe it is going to finish on Monday.

“We cannot sign another player, but we have some players the possibility to leave in next four days. The club is working. Some players know their situation.”
