Arsenal reportedly are facing strong competition for Lille’s Zeki Celik.
Manchester United are among the other Premier League outfits gunning for his signature.
Celik is coming off fresh from a Ligue 1 winning campaign. Having excelled at his role over the past few seasons, he is now ready to make the step up to a bigger club. The Evening Standard understands that Celik could be available for £13m.
That is certainly a price tag that suits Arsenal. Mikel Arteta is actively looking to improve his right-back post with Hector Bellerin tipped to head out. The latter has lost his starting role at the Emirates following a drop in his performances. Now, Arsenal are looking at plenty of candidates to fill that spot.
Celik definitely is an attractive prospect. He is 24 years old, a Turkey international and is wanted by Inter Milan as well. He has shown plenty of prowess going forward and is a capable defender. That is exactly the balance Arteta wants to strike down that right flank.
Arsenal will still need to convince the Turk into signing with them without offering any European football. That is where Inter and Manchester United hold the advantage.
