Mikel Arteta is confident that Emile Smith Rowe will sign a long-term contract.

The 20-year old midfielder who spent his last season on loan at Huddersfield Town has cemented his place in Arteta’s first-team squad this campaign.

He has two years remaining on his Gunners contract and have already attracted interest from some Premier League clubs such as Aston Villa.

Smith Rowe who has scored four goals and made seven assists in his debut season is seen as one of the priorities in the Arsenal squad.

The academy graduate, according to many reports, will sign a new deal with the North London club in the summer.

“I can’t really describe the feeling, to be honest,” Smith Rowe said on Arsenal’s official YouTube channel.

“Being an Arsenal fan from such a young age, getting an opportunity to help put on the Arsenal shirt and step out on that pitch, there’s really no better feeling for me.”
