Jose Mourinho wants Xhaka at Roma this summer.

The 28-year old midfielder is on the verge of leaving Emirates in the summer as Mourinho is reportedly keen on signing Xhaka for Roma in the summer.

The Swiss midfielder has been a regular in Arteta’s starting XI but the club is looking for an upgrade in his position according to Kevin Campbell

Mikel Arteta is planning for a squad overhaul this season and Arteta could be one of the many candidates leaving the North London club.

‘It would not be a blow at all if Granit Xhaka left,’ Campbell told Football Insider.

‘Look, he has been at the club five years and in that time the club haven’t qualified for the Champions League which is not good enough.

‘He had a decent half a season for us but the time has come for us to upgrade. It definitely needs to be done.

‘Italian football would suit him better I think. Selling him would give us a cash injection and that we can go out there and buy somebody else, somebody better.’
