Arsenal Facing Serious Competition For Merih Demiral

Carlo Ancelotti is looking to improve his Everton squad and has shortlisted Merih Demiral.

Arsenal have been heavily invested in the Juventus defender’s future for the past few months.

The Gunners need defensive improvements and Demiral seems to be the ideal fit into their setup. Maurizio Sarri has no plans of integrating the Turkish man into his lineup, allowing him to feature in just Serie A game this season.

Leicester City has expressed an interest in him but do not have an immediate need to sign him. This has allowed Arsenal to get a lead in the 21-year-old’s pursuit. Mikel Arteta is tipped to receive a £30m transfer kitty this January, given the number of injuries he has at the back.

Calum Chambers went down to a knee injury against Manchester United and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Kieran Tierney won’t be back before March and Hector Bellerin is struggling to get back from hamstring setback.

Fans have lost faith on Shkodran Mustafi and David Luiz and Sokratis Papastathopoulos did disappoint this season. They did look much better under Arteta in the past three games but there is no denying, improvements are necessary. Everton’s firepower could threaten Arsenal’s hand in the Demiral chase.
