Arsenal handed boost in Nicolas Pepe pursuit after Lille director makes statement

Arsenal have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Lille star Nicolas Pepe after the director of the French club had his say on the player. The Gunners have been in pursuit of the player for quite some time now and are looking to bring him into the side in the next summer transfer window.

According to the Express, Lille director Luis Campos has admitted that they might have to listen to offers for their sensational ace,  which might come as great news for the Gunners. Campos said, “We are not a rich club.”

He added, “It means that if a really good proposal comes for Pepe, we have to sell him.”

The striker has scored 16 goals in 26 league matches this season and has been highly rated for his ability to score goals from even the minimum of chances. He is currently the third highest goal scorer in the Ligue 1 this season with PSG aces Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe only ahead of him, with 17 and 22 goals respectively.

The player has been rated at £50million and it is to be seen whether Arsenal, who did not invest in any new players in the January transfer window, will go in for the 23-year-old forward or not.
