Real Madrid have pulled out of the race for Kai Havertz.

The German playmaker would struggle to get his nod in the first team when Christopher Nkunku arrives in the summer.

Haverz has struggled for consistency since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020.

After spending €600 million over the past two transfer windows, Chelsea would want to balance their books and trim their squad this summer.

The Blues are demanding £70m for Havertz whose contract expires in the summer of 2025.

Real Madrid emerged as a strong contender for the German playmaker but has now pulled out of the race because of Chelsea’s exorbitant ask.

Arsenal have shown interest in Havertz and have reportedly made their first proposal to sign the player.

The 23-year-old has primarily played as a number 9 for Chelsea, but he can also play as a second striker, so it seems like plans to buy him are moving forward.

But it remains to be seen whether the German star would be sold to a London rival.
