Arsenal In Talks To Sign Super Free Agent

Arsenal are in talks to sign super free agent, Yacine Brahimi, according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners are pursuing a number of wing options with the Algerian turning out to be their most realistic target.

Unai Emery is under heavy pressure from the lack of funds offered to him by the Arsenal chiefs. The Spaniard has to work with a woeful £45m budget and make improvements to both the defence and attacking spaces this summer.

Arsenal are getting priced out of almost all of their targets and their best bet might be to sign free agents. Brahimi is certainly a viable option, given the experience he has picked up, both in Europe and for his national team.

The 29-year-old just ran down his contract with FC Porto. He also enjoyed his best top-flight season, netting the ball 13 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions.

Brahimi has racked up 53 goals in 203 appearances for the Primera Liga outfit since joining them in 2014 from Granada. He certainly has all the tools to fit into this Arsenal side but Emery might still want to hold out for a more prolific star.

Reports have cooled on a potential Yannick Carrasco trade but Wilfried Zaha is pushing strongly for an Emirates switch. AS Monaco’s Keita Balde Diao has also emerged as a top target after his exploits in the Africa Cup Of Nations.
