Arsenal In Transfer Battle With Liverpool For Renato Sanches

Arsenal are competing with Liverpool for the signature of Renato Sanches.

The Lille midfielder has risen to stardom after his heroics for Portugal in the 2020 Euros.

He also enjoyed a stellar club campaign for Lille, appearing in 29 games and eventually winning the Ligue 1 title. Sanches endured a difficult period since winning the Golden Boy award and moving away to Bayern Munich.

He lost his confidence midway and had a tragic loan spell to Swansea City. Good news is, the Portugal international is back impressing on the pitch and wants a Premier League move. He feels strongly about proving himself where he failed before.

Arsenal are definitely scouting for players of his profile – creative, has strong dribbling skills and can cover both ends of the pitch. The Gunners are about to bid farewell to a host of midfielders. Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and Martin Odegaard have either departed or set to depart.

Mikel Arteta needs technically adept players to fill those spots and are capable of starting regularly next to Thomas Partey. Sanches could be that player with a reported value of £30m. Arsenal should easily be able to conclude a deal for that amount.
