William Saliba and Arsenal are both very hopeful about a contract extension, and more discussions will happen this week

There are several encouraging signs in the ongoing contract extension talks between Arsenal and William Saliba, according to Fabrizio Romano.

According to what I’ve been told, there are continuous discussions because both Saliba’s and Arsenal’s sides are positive about working together in the future. Last Tuesday, James Olley of ESPN claimed that Arsenal intended to intensify negotiations with Saliba’s representatives this week in an effort to secure him a new, long-term contract.

According to ESPN, Saliba turned down Arsenal’s most recent contract offer since there was a big discrepancy between the player’s demands and the Gunners’ suggestion. However, all parties are still open to reaching an extended deal, and Arsenal is hopeful they will succeed. It remains to be seen how the current round of negotiations with Saliba’s agent in London turn out.

After Arsenal recently exercised their option to extend it, the center-contract back’s is set to expire in 2024. Following the match against Tottenham Hotspur, Saliba revealed he and his agency are in contract negotiations with Arsenal and that he is content to remain at the club.

According to a recent article in The Athletic, one of the reasons Saliba’s contract hasn’t been signed is that Arsenal didn’t provide a salary that his representation felt was reasonable given how long they want him to be on the sidelines. Saliba’s team will demand more money as long as the contract is longer since they believe they could have renegotiated a bigger salary in a few seasons if he had been on a shorter one. This week, we’ll see if the two sides can work out a deal.
