Gary Neville wants England call-up for Eddie Nketiah

Gareth Southgate will have no choice but to call Nketiah up in his next squad.

Former Man United star Gary Neville admits Eddie Nketiah is making good progress and could be considered by the England national team manager for a call-up soon.

The Arsenal star has been outstanding for the club and he is making progress with each game. Nketiah is now the leading goal scorer for Arsenal.

Nketiah solved the problem for Mikel Arteta as the club was worried on Gabriel Jesus’ injury. The Brazilian got injured during the World Cup and he is recovering.

The Englishman is in top form for Arsenal. He just netted twice against Manchester United in an important Premier League game. He scored the winner to secure 3-2 victory over the Red Devils at Emirates.

After seeing his performance against United, Neville believes Nketiah could be named in the next England squad.

‘Nketiah, you look at him and the dearth of English centre forwards… I think he’s got a real opportunity at the moment,’ Neville said on the Gary Neville podcast.

‘But at the moment, the best thing that Eddie Nketiah can do is really just contribute to this Arsenal team and this very special run that they’re on, and this very special season that they’re having.’

Nketiah was asked to play for the Ghana national team at the World Cup, but he turned down the chance and it could be the right decision.

If the Arsenal star keeps scoring, Gareth Southgate will have no choice but to call him up in his next squad.
