Arsenal are ready to raid on loan Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho with an improved offer on his loan deal at Aston Villa

The Gunners are interested in signing the attacking midfielder and want to complete a move in the summer, when his loan at Aston Villa expires.

Coutinho has been able to demonstrate the player he was at Liverpool before a big money move to Barcelona in 2018 that ended up being a terrible nightmare for the small Brazilian after returning to the Premier League in January to rekindle with Steven Gerrard.

Coutinho failed to reach his best form while at Barcelona, which led him to be benched for extended periods of time.

On four games, the 29-year-old has two goals and two assists, including an equaliser from the bench in his comeback against Manchester United.

According to Spanish media, Arsenal is preparing to make an offer on Coutinho that would be better than the buy option now in place between Aston Villa and Barcelona at the conclusion of the loan, an offer they think would entice Barcelona to sell to them rather than Villa.

West Ham United are also interested in signing him, indicating their desire to move into the top four.

If Coutinho continues to demonstrate his talent in the Premier League, there is a chance Barcelona will choose to keep him, however considering how the previous few years have gone, this seems improbable.
