Balague discusses what Emery wants to do at Arsenal

It is never easy to take over a club from a manager who has been at the helm for decades. Look at Manchester United.

However, at Arsenal Unai Emery is taking his own time and approach and Spanish journalist Guillem Balague believes Emery wants more signings of his own type to add layers and imprint his own style on the team.

“What Unai is trying to do is add layers to the side,” Balague said on his YouTube channel.

“It will make much more sense as time goes on, because he will have the players that he wants, but he will get more training sessions for the team to do what he wants them to do.

“What does he want them to do? To be flexible, not to look always the same, to adapt a little bit to the team and to the circumstances of the rival and to the circumstances of his own team.

“That’s why he doesn’t look like he has a personality. I think he does, but the personality is flexibility, if you like.”

Arsenal will receive a huge boost if they win the Europe League final and qualify for the Champions League in terms of both budget and attraction for players.
