Claudio Bravo Considering Interests From Arsenal

Arsenal have drawn links to Claudio Bravo in the wake of Bernd Leno’s season-ending injury.

It was an unfortunate end to the Gunners’ night at Brighton when a 2-1 defeat got marked off by Leno getting stretchered off the pitch.

There is no certainty when the German will return but he could miss a considerable part of next season as well. While Emiliano Martinez will be called up to fill his shoes, Arsenal might be on the lookout for a quick backup.

Bravo has revealed that he is considering his future away from Manchester City and is flattered by interests from Arsenal and Celtic. He has played just 17 times under Pep Guardiola in the past two seasons. At 37, it is a clear indication that he is not really wanted at the Etihad.

“There is nowhere in the world I would not consider playing,” Bravo told TVN. “I’ve read the names of the clubs that have been linked with me and I regard that as an honour because they are very good clubs. I’m proud that I have attracted interest from the clubs mentioned.

“What I and my family are looking for is a club with stability and a comfortable environment to live. It depends on several factors, it depends on the club and the project that the club has. I will consider all my options and make a decision soon.”

Is Bravo the right fit at Arsenal even as a temporary option? Good news is Leno’s injury was not as serious as it was initially thought to be.

“We thought [Leno’s injury] was going to be more significant,” Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta said. “We are not sure on the extent still but he is feeling positive.”
