Emile Smith Rowe 'I've Always Wanted To Play For This Club'

Emile Smith Rowe professed his love for Arsenal are winning the match against Newcastle United.

Mikel Arteta brought him on in the second half of a very dry FA Cup third round outing against the Magpies.

The youngster came on to break the deadlock in injury time, picking up a headed assist from Alexandre Lacazette and strike it neatly past Karl Darlow. After that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed up the win with a second strike off of Kieran Tierney’s pass.

Smith Rowe now has a goal involvement in every 73 minutes of playing time for the senior side. He has now collected 2 goals and 4 assists in 9 senior appearances for the Gunners. The midfielder did escape a red-card suspension after the referee reviewed one of his tackles through VAR.

After the game, he said, “Like you said, the incident before wasn’t ideal [with the red card], definitely wasn’t intentional. I’m happy to get the goal and happy to go through to the next round.

“It’s great, from a young kid I’ve always wanted to play for this club. All the young players, it’s good for us to get opportunities so I’m really happy to be playing for this club.”
