Joleon Lescott want Arsenal to make Saka new captain.

Former Everton and Manchester City defender, Joleon Lescott, believes Gunners could get Bukayo Saka to stay at the club. He wants the Arsenal to make him their captain.

The 20-year-old has been arguably the most valuable player of Arsenal in the last few seasons. The attacker is getting better.

Other European clubs are monitoring Saka’s process and they are keen to get him in the summer.

The North London club could soon face having to either sell him or meet his ambitions. Saka is the one who wants to play in the Champions League. Meanwhile, Arsenal can break into the Champions League next season as they are the front runners to finish fourth in table.

The former England international feels he is less likely to ask for a move away if they make him their captain.

The retired defender said via The Sun: “From an Arsenal perspective, Saka is a player they have to keep hold of at all costs.

“He has aspirations to play in the Champions League next season, but by giving him the armband, I think he’d be far less likely to leave if they did miss out on the top four.

“He’s come through the ranks, he loves the club — he simply has to be a leading candidate.”
