Inter Milan appears to be giving up on trying to recruit Folarin Balogun in favour of Gianluca Scamacca, who they want to acquire for less money

According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan has stopped negotiations to purchase Folarin Balogun because they believe the Arsenal striker is too pricey.

Instead, Inter is concentrating on a deal for Gianluca Scamacca after West Ham United rejected their initial offer. However, the Serie A team is prepared to make another offer. Romano had earlier said that Balogun was Inter’s top transfer objective and that negotiations had already begun. However, Inter were never close to paying Arsenal’s asking price.

Moretto affirms that official negotiations between Inter and West Ham are taking place, with the Italian team moving closer to a deal for Scamacca. According to a prior report from CBS Sports, Inter were prepared to challenge Arsenal with a €40 million (£34 million) deal for Balogun, but Arsenal valued the striker at £50 million.

Balogun has admirers in the Premier League as well, including Brighton, Crystal Palace, and West Ham United, as the Gunners are aware. There were allegations that Inter was attempting to structure the agreement as an initial loan with an obligation to buy in addition to the value discrepancy.

Arsenal, meanwhile, is probably looking to collect money through sales right away rather than wait a year after making significant investments this summer. Balogun is currently injured and working out separately from the rest of the Arsenal team. The fact that Mikel Arteta is unable to get a good look at the 22-year-old during games has further compounded the picture.
