Juventus eyes Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus for loan deal

Juventus have set their sights on Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus, with sources claiming that they are looking for a loan deal for the Brazilian. Jesus, who joined the Gunners from Manchester City in 2022 for a whopping £45 million, has come under criticism as Arsenal look for a new number nine.

While Jesus has proven his abilities beyond just scoring goals, such as assisting to critical plays like Leandro Trossard’s equalizer against Bayern Munich, his goal-scoring record raised concerns.

With only 19 goals in 62 Arsenal games, the 27-year-old faces competition from potential targets such as Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres, who has 36 goals this season, and Brentford’s Ivan Toney, who is regarded as a more powerful goal threat.

According to TuttoJuve, Juventus is closely monitoring Jesus’ situation at Arsenal, aware of his intention to honor his contract until 2027 but also considering the possibility of a loan move.

“They already know if they want to [sign a striker] or not,” Jesus told reporters when discussing his role at the club.

“Maybe this question is not for me but for them. My job is to try to work, train hard, improve what I have to improve and help Arsenal win games and after win trophies.

“The speculation will always be there, not only here but every club. People want to decide who the club wants to sign. This is not just happening at Arsenal but a lot of clubs.”

The Turin-based club sees an opportunity in Jesus, aiming to bolster their attacking options ahead of the summer transfer window.

With the speculation surrounding his future, Jesus remains driven to battle for his place on Mikel Arteta’s squad. While his goal-scoring prowess is questioned, his contribution to link-up play and off-the-ball movement might still be helpful for Arsenal, even if they sign another forward.

While Juventus keeps a close eye on Jesus, the next transfer window promises to be an exciting time for both teams as they look for ways to improve their teams for the challenges ahead.
