Manchester United Circling Arsenal For £50m Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Manchester United are planning a £50m raid of Arsenal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international is due to to enter the final year of his contract with no immediate intention of siging an extension.

Aubameyang’s outstanding tally of 61 goals in 97 appearances for Arsenal makes him a top target for almost all top European sides. Liverpool and Chelsea reportedly have joined Barcelona on the race for his signature as well.

Arsenal are resigned to losing him with just around 12 months left on his current deal. Despite being their best player, the Gunners are prepared to cash in on him now. It would be more wise to use his transfer sum on a replacement instead, of allowing his current deal to run out.

Ed Woodward is notorious for making audacious bids for top footballers. He recognizes Aubameyang’s scoring talents and how he could be available for as little as £50m. However, the 30-year-old’s most lucrative destination would be Barcelona. Quique Setien is looking to bring in Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez next summer.

If a move for the Argentine fails, Barca will likely try to wrap up Aubameyang’s signature. Luis Suarez is entering the twilight of his career and the La Liga champions need a replacement. Aubameyang, who is also into his 30s seem to be enjoying his prime years. Much of Arsenal’s chances of retaining his chances will depend on the club gaining Champions League football this season.
