Martin Odegaard responds defiantly to critics of Arsenal’s celebrations after win over Liverpool

Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard didn’t mince words when responding to critics who downplayed the Gunners’ exuberant celebrations following their victory against Liverpool.

After a hard-fought 3-1 win over the 10-player Liverpool squad, Odegaard emphasized Arsenal’s commitment to humility amidst their Premier League title aspirations.

Despite Jamie Carragher’s disapproval of the post-match revelry, suggesting the Gunners should swiftly head down the tunnel, Odegaard stood firm.

Asked if it is possible to over-celebrate after such a big win, the midfielder replied: “No. I think everyone who loves football, who understands football, they know how much it means to win this game.

“If you’re not allowed to celebrate when you win a game, when are you allowed to celebrate? We’re happy with the win and we’ll stay humble.

“We keep working hard and we prepare for the next one, but of course you have to be happy when you win.

“It was a massive game. We showed up. The fans were unbelievable. I think we all did this together. You see the club, how together we are, all the players, staff, supporters, everything. Brilliant to see.”

The Norwegian midfielder, who took charge of capturing the team’s jubilant moments on camera, remained unapologetic.

Carragher’s attempt to mock the celebration by changing his profile picture to Odegaard’s snapshot didn’t faze the Arsenal captain.

Odegaard’s response highlights Arsenal’s resolve to stay grounded amid their recent success. The Gunners’ victory not only narrowed the gap between them and Liverpool in the league standings but also showcased their determination to contend for the title.
