Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League table.

The Gunners are leading the top flight, five points above title-holders Manchester City.

Both teams will face each other at the Etihad on Friday for the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Mikel Arteta believes a victory on Friday will boost the team’s confidence and momentum.

The Spaniard worked as an assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City prior to his managerial position at Arsenal.

The Arsenal manager prefers not to be fighting with Pep Guardiola for the Premier League crown.

Arteta told reporters: “I always hoped this would be the case one day and it is happening this season.

“Obviously that is not going to change any friendship, how important he is in my life and how important he is to my profession.

“We both want to win and defend our clubs the best possible way. That has always been the case since day one.”
