Mikel Arteta Lining Up Six New Faces At Arsenal

Mikel Arteta wants six people in his Arsenal coaching staff, states reputable BBC journalist, David Ornstein.

The Spaniard took charge of the football club on Saturday after their 0-0 draw against Everton. It was also Freddie Ljungberg’s last game as the caretaker boss.

Arteta has believed to have offered Ljungberg a place in his coaching team but the Swede is yet to accept his offer. Steve Round and Inaki Cana are expected to fill two more seats in the dugout next to Arteta.

Round was in attendance for the Everton game, having previously worked as an assistance coach for the Toffees, Manchester United and even as the director of football at Aston Villa. Cana is a goalkeeping coach with a pretty impressive resume. His influent has been felt by Brentford who currently have the best goalkeeping record in the Championship.

There is no concrete data on who the other three will be. Pep Guardiola will not allow Arteta to poach Rodolfo Borrell from Manchester City and Domenec Torrent of New York City FC is set to stay there till November.

Arsenal hold a torrid record of having won just 1 out of their last 12 games. It is still a bit early to predict if a top four spot is out of their reach this season.
