Granit Xhaka played his last game for Arsenal last night.

The midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen as he netted a brace last night against Wolves in his final game for the Gunners.

He received a standing ovation from the Arsenal supporters when he was withdrawn in the 75th minute.

The fans held up signs and banners thanking him for his service to the club.

Xhaka has been an integral part of Arsenal’s success in the 2022/23 campaign as he managed nine goals and seven assists in a single campaign

“I think one year back I spoke to him and I told him ‘there’s a question mark on you, you have to deliver more, you have to be better, I’m going to challenge you to play here,’” Arteta told football.london.

“He went back and I think he started to train the next day. He came back in preseason four kilos less, fit, with this face *screws his face to show focus* and really willing to do it.

“He’s been exceptional. He’s been a key part of the team, the success of the team and I’m so happy everybody is appreciating what he’s done.”
