It might surprise you to hear that Napoli have taken a liking to Denis Suarez after only seeing him in action for 95 minutes in an Arsenal shirt.
Yes, the Serie A outfit might just have been scouting him for longer but it comes as shock since sides are going head to head for the ultimate Europea League trophy this season.
The Gunners collected a marginal 2-0 victory over Carlo Ancelotti’s men in the opening Quarterfinal tie at the Emirates, after wasting a plethora of chances which could have ended the tie for good.
Now, both sides are due to face off on Thursday night at the San Paolo Stadium where Denis Suarez is not expected to make an appearance.
His agent, Felix Guende revealed, “He has two years left at Barcelona. This year in England hasn’t been his best. He’s played little and hasn’t been able to find a rhythm. At the moment, he’s injured. He has muscle fatigue and an injury.
“We’re awaiting the results from the exams. Napoli? The interest is always appreciated, being a team that has been fighting for the top positions for years. It’s a bit soon to talk about the transfer window, but we aren’t excluding anything.”
Unai Emery might not be too keen on splashing out £18m on a player who has struggled to fit into his side.
