Piers Morgan insists signing Ronaldo would have been a smart move.
The Portuguese superstar slammed Man United and Erik Ten Hag in an explosive interview back in December.
The interview then sanctioned his move to Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr at the start of 2023.
But TV presenter Piers Morgan, an Arsenal fan wanted his club to sign the veteran forward in the winter window as his inclusion would have offered Arsenal a huge boost towards glory.
Morgan told talkSPORT: “Arsenal fans laughed at me last year when I suggested that Ronaldo would be a great signing for the rest of the season when he left United.
“Are they laughing now? Do we not honestly think someone like Ronaldo in that run-in, when [Gabriel] Jesus got injured, that Ronaldo couldn’t have led our line and perhaps got us over the line?
“Not just because of the goals but because of the winning mentality. But let’s be under no illusion here, we chucked the title, we had it, it was ours to lose, we choked, and that is a mentality thing.”
