PSG and Brazil superstar Neymar “would love” to play for Arsenal

PSG are willing to offload Neymar this summer

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit admits Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar “would love” to play for the Gunners.

Neymar is supposed to leave PSG this summer and he is linked with a move to Premier League. The Brazilian cost PSG a world-record £198million when he signed from Barcelona in August 2017.

The 31-year-old is not in PSG’s future plans and he may find England his new home. PSG are willing to offload the Brazilian winger.

They do realise the sale of Neymar will be quite difficult to negotiate given his wage demands, and the fact they will probably want an extortionate transfer fee given the player is under contract until 2025, with the option for a further year.

Chelsea and Manchester United have both been linked with Neymar in recent months. Man United could make a move for the former Barca man if they are bought by prospective owner Sheikh Jassim.

While talking to Genting Casino, Petit admits Neymar could come in and be used as a “rotation” player under Mikel Arteta.

“I think Neymar will suit any big club. If he comes to Arsenal, I would love it and I think he will too,” Petit said.

“I think he will enjoy the technical football and the style of Arsenal. He would love to play with younger players as he is quite mature himself.

‌”He will also have revenge on his mind with everything that he has been going through at PSG, and the tears he shed at the World Cup. I think he will be happy to move to Arsenal if that is the case.

“He can play on the left and the right, and because of his ankle injuries he can be a player in rotation.”

Petit seems eager to see Neymar in England, saying a move to Manchester United would make him “very happy”.

‌”If he goes to Man Utd, I will be very happy for them and the Premier League.

“They have (Marcus) Rashford and (Jadon) Sancho who can man both wings, but also have the skills to rotate so Neymar can easily fit into that cycle.”
