Ramsdale has dislodged Bernd Leno as Arsenal’s undisputed no.1.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale feels he is ready to become the club’s next captain.

The Englishman is Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper now and playing an important part for Southgate’s side as well. He arrived at the club in the summer but has promptly dislodged Bernd Leno as their undisputed no.1.

Ramsdale has delivered impressive performances this season and Arsenal are now in the line of finishing top four. They may qualify for the Champions League this season.

Ramsdale said in a recent interview with FourFourTwo: “Listen, I’d take the responsibility but that’s down to the manager,”

“We’ve got a lot of strong characters, though, and a lot of people who I think would be good captains.

“Just to be told ‘you’re in a leadership role’ – I’d relish whatever. You never turn down a captaincy and I think I’d excel if I was given the armband, but that’s down to the boss.”
