VfB Stuttgart is determined to sign permanently on-loan Arsenal centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Kicker says Arsenal are set to receive a £2.5million fee for their defender regardless of whether or not Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side remain in the Bundesliga.
That is contrary to previous reports which suggested relegation would have an impact on the price.
Greece international was loaned out to the Swabians for the second successive season prior to the beginning of this term and an option-to-buy clause was inserted into the deal.
The 24-year-old’s contract will expire in June 2023. He was signed by the Gunners from PAS Giannina for £1.8m in the winter of 2016.
Meanwhile, Mavropanos made just eight appearances for the first team at Emirates.
