Despite the strong will to stay, it truly seems that Ceballos’ days at Arsenal are numbered.

Real Madrid giants will reportedly recall on-loan star Dani Ceballos from Arsenal next summer.

La Liga giants Real Madrid are looking to integrate as many as five youngsters into their first team before the beginning of the next season. AS and Daily Mail say that by doing so, they aim to “save money” on expensive transfers.

Apart from Ceballos, Real Sociedad’s Martin Odegaard, Sergio Reguillon of Sevilla, Takefusa Kubo of Real Mallorca and Borussia Dortmund’s Achraf Hakimi, are the other four youngsters who will return to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer.

The reports from Spain further add that Los Blancos aim to use these young stars in the first team next season, so that their transfer budget can instead be used to fund what will most likely be a world-record bid for Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

Currently rated at over €250 million, Mbappe can be signed by Real Madrid only if they save at least €300 million for the upcoming summer transfer window. The current world record in transfer fees is held by PSG’s Neymar, who made the switch from Barcelona to the Parisians in the summer of 2017, for a reported transfer fee of €220 million.

The Mail, meanwhile, says Arsenal want to sign Ceballos on a permanent deal when his loan agreement comes to an end in 2020. And the 23-year-old is also said to be keen on swapping the Bernabeu for the Emirates after holding talks with Real president Florentino Perez.

Ceballos’ stock has risen rapidly since moving to England, and he has impressed with two assists and one goal in 13 games under Emery. But it appears the Spanish side is keen on keeping hold of the midfielder, who has also become a regular for the Spanish national team.
