Reputable Youngster Makes Decision About His Arsenal Future

Arsenal youngster, Reiss Nelson claims that he is fully focused on breaking into the Arsenal first-team.

He is currently out on loan with Hoffenheim, having made 26 appearances this season and scoring 7 goals. The winger has been impressive on his time away to warrant a place in Unai Emery’s side from the next term.

He has earned praise from the Gunners academy manager, Per Mertesacker.

When talking about Nelson’s potential to star in this Arsenal side, the German said, “I think he has done a brilliant job but that all fell into place because he wanted to go. He had a great opportunity but you need to take these opportunities and make sure you learn from those moments. Instead of being a first-team player between the under-23s and the first team, this is something different.”

Now, with the 2018/19 campaign winding to a close, Nelson is definitely revisiting the progress he has made as a footballer and about his future ambitions.

He revealed, “If I wasn’t aiming to break into the Arsenal first team, that wouldn’t be the correct mindset. I am just at the beginning. I want to get to the very top.”

With a bag of skills under his boots and the years in front of him to develop, the Englishman has boundless potential to succeed back in his home country.

Arsenal are currently understaffed in the wing departments and Emery would like nothing better than to recruit from his own base at the Emirates, rather than to spend millions that the club might not have.
