Arsenal boss Unai Emery wants the club’s supporters to create a big atmosphere at the Emirates when they take on Rennes tonight.

Rennes beat Arsenal 3-1 in the first leg at France. The Gunners need to win at least 2-0 in the second leg tonight in order to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Rennes who are in the knockout rounds of a European competition for the first time since 2001 gave a fine performance in the home leg last week. However, Arsenal have gained plenty of confidence after defeating Manchester United 2-0 last weekend.

Speaking ahead of the match, Unai Emery feels that he needs Arsenal fans to create an emotional moment tonight at the Emirates. The Spaniard said, “We need to be together and create a big atmosphere at the Emirates with our supporters to help us to do the best performance possible. We need to play with high emotion with our supporters but we need to take clever decisions on the pitch with our mind.

These are both important issues tomorrow that we need to control in 90 minutes and maybe more. We need a big atmosphere tomorrow to create a very emotional moment in the 90 minutes with our supporters. We need to be clever in the 90 minutes with fresh minds and very calm to take the best decisions.”
