Unai Emery has hinted about reintroducing Granit Xhaka back in the Arsenal lineup.
The Spaniard tiptoed around the possibility of bringing back Xhaka in the game against Norwich City.
Arsenal are due to face off against Southampton after which they will travel to Carrow Road next week. Emery said, “Maybe it would be best in an away game. The most important thing is to connect with our supporters.
“But I am going to do it progressively. I want to give him a good feeling being with us. It could be at home, could be away. The important thing is how he feels. He told me he wants to help the team. I will decide with him when he starts playing.
“I will decide if it is a good moment, or if we need more time. It is not just Xhaka. Hector Bellerin told me he struggled here with the supporters. Other players have had that.
“But they have come back and I want Xhaka to do the same. I took the captaincy off him because it is better that he does not have that responsibility. He should not forget his mistake, but he can come back and show his commitment.
“He is a good guy, a good player and he loves and respects Arsenal – but he must know he made a mistake. Now he feels that he can come back and help us. We need a good result. Then we will feel better.”
