Unai Emery Leaves No Room For PSG To Poach Away Arsenal Youngster

Unai Emery looked to be shocked by a reporter’s question regarding the link between Matteo Guendouzi and Paris Saint-Germain.

Rumours have surfaced that the Ligue 1 giants are preparing a £60m bid for the teenage midfielder who only cost the Gunners £7m last summer. It was Unai Emery who vetted Guendouzi from the Ligue 2 camps of Lorient and brought him to the Emirates along with 5 other players this campaign.

The 19-year-old midfielder has made 34 appearances already this season and has established himself as one of the hottest young talents in all of Europe. After Arsenal’s 3-0 win over BATE Borisov on Thursday night, Emery said, “I am surprised [by the speculation]. I don’t want this.”

“His development is like we want. He has a big ambition, big quality. Sometimes we need more quality with him and sometimes we need for him to be more stronger in midfield. But his development with us is very important and he’s playing with big consistency and I think he is improving a lot. His quality is very impressive for us.”

Arsenal are thought to offer Emery only £45m to restrengthen the team next summer and PSG’s ridiculous offer could sway a lot of clubs. However, the North London outfit are looking to add more talents into the side, not sell any of their best ones.
