Why Aubameyang Won't Leave Arsenal: Ornstein

Reporter David Ornstein has given his thoughts on why the Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won’t be leaving Arsenal soon. But before you get too happy, there’s a twist.

Ornstein is known for reporting news that mostly comes true and he has now come out with the latest scoop. He has answered the question that most Arsenal fans are yearning to know – will Auba stay or leave the Gunners?

A fan tweeted a quote by Ornstein: “There is a chance Auba could even stay and take the loyalty bonus at the end of the contract and then leave on a free”

It is mostly true, although Ornstein cleared up one tiny detail.

“Didn’t say loyalty bonus, said signing on bonus elsewhere if he leaves as free next summer” he tweeted back, correcting the fan’s tweet.

Ornstein has said that Aubameyang won’t be leaving Arsenal, and will be staying on. However, Aubameyang will also not be signing an extension – which simply means that he can go on a free transfer someplace next summer. This will allow him to earn a huge signing-on bonus, as Ornstein stated.

The Gunners obviously want him to extend his contract if he is staying on, but since he won’t, they also cannot force him to leave. Till his contract runs out – which is set to expire next year in 2021 – looks like Aubameyang will stay put.
