Alexandre Lacazette Holds No Grudge Against Eddie Nketiah At Arsenal

Eddie Nketiah insists that him and Alexandre Lacazette do not share a hostile relationship in their battle for a starting spot.

Mikel Arteta has decided to pick the 20-year-old in the starting lineup of the past two Premier League games.

Lacazette certainly made a case for selection, scoring two goals in his last two games. However, due to his dip in form, Nketiah has managed to sneak in more minutes up front.

“Obviously he (Lacazette) is a mature lad and a great player,” he told Goal. “He always tries to encourage me. He has been a young player in my position so he knows what it is like. There are no hostilities, he’s just always looking to help and improve and it shows the maturity he has.

“He has had a great career so all I can do is take the advice he gives me and try and implement it in my game.”

Lacazette, if anything, is a complete team player. While he has struggled to find the back of the net this season but his effort on the pitch has been undeniably good. Nketiah certainly made it even more tough on him by scoring in the 3-2 win over Everton.

Arteta could just be preparing the 20-year-old as Lacazette’s successor.
