Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard would consider a sensational move to Bayern Munich, according to reports in Germany, as the Gunners push to secure their skipper’s long-term future.

Bayern Ready to Move if Odegaard Refuses Extension
The Norwegian midfielder’s current contract at the Emirates Stadium runs until 2028, but Arsenal want to agree an extension to avoid the 27-year-old entering the final year of his deal.
Sky Germany claim the club will consider a sale next summer if Odegaard does not sign a new contract, as they are unwilling to lose him for free.
Bayern Munich reportedly stands ready to act should that scenario unfold, having maintained “ongoing contact” with the midfielder over the past few years.
While Odegaard remains happy and settled in north London, the report states he “could, in principle, imagine playing for the German champions in the future” and holds a “general interest” in the move.
A number of other top European clubs also reportedly monitor his situation.
Odegaard’s future became uncertain around 12 months ago following injury problems and a dip in form, but he ended last season by captaining Arsenal to their first Premier League title since 2004 and helping Mikel Arteta’s side reach the Champions League final.
He has started the 2026/27 campaign even stronger, scoring four goals and providing an assist across domestic and European competition.
Arsenal faced Bayern in the Champions League earlier this month, drawing 2-2 thanks to Declan Rice’s late equaliser.
Arteta hoped to rest his captain against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday but brought him on at half-time with Arsenal trailing 1-0.
The Gunners equalised early in the second half but lost on penalties in one of the EFL Cup’s biggest shocks.
Arsenal, joint-top of the Premier League, return to action on Sunday against Liverpool at Anfield.
