Arsenal Lining Up Move For Ferran Torres If One Of The Forwards Leave

Arsenal are preparing for a situation where either one of their star forwards might leave the club this summer.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract is running out quick with plenty of clubs after him. Alexandre Lacazette is wanted back in Spain and Italy after what has been a poor scoring season for him.

Arsenal are considering various options where they might get to keep one or the other, not both. That could mean either one would be allowed to play in their preferred centre-forward role while a new face can fill up the role on the flanks.

Ferran Torres is exactly that player with 6 goals and 7 assists to his name this season. His contract is due to run out in 2021 as well, making him an attractive target for Arsenal. The Spaniard is still only 20 and showing top-notch potential in the Valencia ranks. He could make the switch to the Premier League this early and use the time to adapt to the league.

Torres is already pretty quick and a skilled dribbler. Arsenal can bring him in on a bargain deal but chances are low. There are several other outfits monitoring the winger and the Gunners are very well covered in the position. Young duo, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are capable contenders for the wing positions while Reiss Nelson is slowly developing under Mikel Arteta.

Bringing in Torres will only hamper their progress or worse, completely oust one of them. Arsenal have more pressing need to address their central midfield and defence this summer rather than the wings.
