Arsenal Not Interested In Keeping Denis Suarez Beyond This Season

According to the latest reports, Arsenal are not exactly too keen on exercising their buy-back clause for Denis Suarez.

For a player who’s impact has hardly been felt by this Gunners team, it seems like a bit excessive to pay £18m for him. Admittedly, the 25-year-old has not really been given a wholesome opportunity to prove himself but more was expected of him even during his substitute appearance.

Unai Emery has chosen to implement Suarez as super-sub since Aaron Ramsey has continued to perform at an electric rate for Arsenal. The Welshman is due to leave for Juventus next season but he has maintained his professional courtesy to the North London outfit.

With Henrikh Mkhitaryan hitting his best form right now and Mesut Ozil getting more time as a starter, this has left Suarez with no space to showcase his talents.

However, things seem to be constantly changing in Emery’s debut season in the Premier League and you never what the rest of the season might hold for the midfielder. Suarez is still technically very good and is versatile enough to play any position around the centre-circle.

Arsenal are going strong in both the Europa League and in the top-four race in the Premier League. Emery’s priority is to grab hold of a Champions League spot through one way or the other and he might need the Barcelona midfielder’s services late into the 2018/19 season.

There might just be a greater reason as to why Emery went to all that trouble to sign just the one player in January.
