Arsenal are looking to sign Jorginho as a replacement for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Arsenal are still talking to Lyon but have been able to a settlement for Aouar yet. And rumours point that Arsenal might be looking to take Jorginho on loan from Chelsea as a backup if Aouar doesn’t work out.

A regular Chelsea journalist told the London Is Blue Podcast: “The interest from Arsenal for Jorginho is real. It’s very real!”

“I think Arsenal are probably going to sign Aouar and Jorginho’s not their first choice. Arsenal have got Jorginho on a list of three. It’s real, I was told not to discount a possibility of a very late loan on him, if Arsenal can’t get what else they want.”

However, other sources point to a different story. Jorginho’s agent puts his foot down on any contact by the Gunners with the Chelsea midfielder. His agent has indeed confirmed that they are rumours.

“Jorginho still has a three-year contract with Chelsea, this one plus two more,” he said.

“I heard a lot about Arsenal and PSG in the last few days, but the reality is that so far no official offer has arrived for the player.

“The market closes on October 5th, but the more time passes the more difficult it becomes to make such an important operation.

“At the moment, therefore, I can say that it is only rumours.
