Arsenal Want To Send Emile Smith-Rowe Out On Loan

Arsenal are looking to send Emile Smith-Rowe out on loan in January.

It will be beneficial for both the player and the club if he gets to play regular football from now on.

At the Emirates, he will obviously struggle for minutes with older player’s like Mesut Ozil and Dani Ceballos filling up the attacking midfield role. Smith-Rowe’s development has also stunted since his debut campaign under Unai Emery, mostly due to multiple injury spells.

Football.london claims many European outfits want to sign the youngster on a short-term basis. RB Leipzig are interested in signing him out for a second term but the 19-year-old wants to remain in England. He has made a few cameo appearances for the senior side, even starting in the 0-0 Premier League draw against Everton this month.

Fans have pegged him to be a future star after he registered 4 goals in 7 appearances for Arsenal last season. Smith-Rowe is a bright spark but it is clear his game needs to develop more. While his eagerness to push forward is notable, he is yet to learn the traits of a traditional number ten.

Given how Ozil is already in his 30s and slowing down beyond reason, there is a chance for Smith-Rowe to impress on loan and jot his name down in Arteta’s good books. The new Gunners boss wants to push the collective that Arsenal are an attacking side and he wants to renew that identity back at the club.
