Arsenal's Loan Agreement For Barcelona Midfielder Breaks Down Over Buy-Back Guarantee

Reports have emerged stating talks of a short term loan agreement for Denis Suarez has broken down between Arsenal and Barcelona.

The 25-year-old was set to complete a move to Emirates this January with the option of a permanent transfer next summer. However, the Gunners could not provide the guarantee of buying the player back that Barcelona necessarily wanted.

Unai Emery earlier had revealed that transfers were not possible for Arsenal due to the lack of funds. The club’s wage bills are through the roof with transfer expenses crossing £200m over the past two seasons.

Denis Suarez is not in Ernest Valverde’s plans at the Camp Nou and the La Liga giants are ready to ship the midfielder out immediately. They have just brought in Kevin Prince-Boateng, an experienced midfielder who is bound to push Suarez further down the pecking order.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are in dire need of a replacement for Aaron Ramsey. Emery had pegged Suarez to be that creative guy but unfortunately, the Spanish head coach will have to look elsewhere if a signing right now.

This is a massive blow for the North London outfit as Ramsey has already agreed to sign with Juventus on a free transfer after this season. Some reports came out claiming the Welshman could have been on the move this very month for a £10m fee if Suarez’s signature was acquired at the same time.
