Bukayo Saka is entering the final year of his contract at Arsenal.
The North London club’s youth product has majorly stepped up to the big boys club. He is, however, currently on a £7,000 per week salary which is due to expire next year.
Arsenal already have a great number of players on the verge of exit with the biggest possibility being that of their captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners captain’s future could make or break the immediate prospectives of the club with Arteta now standing at the crossroads of his managerial career.
The boss however, sounded extremely positive of tying down Saka to a new deal. He has after all consistently backed the winger to start in important matches and given him the confidence to express himself on the pitch.
He said: “I am very positive that everything is going to be done with Bukayo very shortly.
“The communications between the club, the agents, and the family have been going on for months and are very fluent.
“But the player knows how much trust I have in him and every week he is showing his consistency level is getting better and better.
“I am so excited by the young players we have. They just need the right environment around them to explode.
“But Bukayo is already doing that despite our difficult circumstances, which is even more merit for him.”
