Outstanding Season Has Made This Arsenal Striker A Top Real Madrid Target

According to the latest reports, Zinedine Zidane has demanded that Real Madrid make an attempt to sign Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gunners scoring machine has enjoyed an outstanding campaign, collecting the Premier League Golden Boot in his first full season at England. With 22 goals he has had to share the award with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane but the Gabon international could have easily made it solely his by scoring an achievable hattrick against Burnley in the final game.

Aubameyang has been a scoring force in Europe for quite some time now. He claimed the same honour during the 2016/17 campaign with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, over Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.

He along with his strike partner, Alexandre Lacazette has launched Arsenal’s crazy scoring statistic this season, making them the most efficient team in Premier League history since 1996.

Real Madrid are expected to revamp their lineup after a torrid season in both domestic and European competitions. With Karim Benzema hitting 31 last December, Zidane is looking for a fresher face to lead the club’s attacking lineup.

The only hope for the Gunners faithful is that Aubameyang is not too far behind the current Real Madrid number nine in terms of age. The Arsenal scoring machine is currently 29 and is about to hit 30 this June.

The North London outfit are unlikely to let go of their leading scorer but Madrid might not be willing to spend upwards of £60-70m on an ageing forward.
