Arsenal Defender Reveals He Could Leave The Club In Summer

Stephan Lichsteiner has admitted he may have to leave Arsenal after this season.

The defender was brought in from Juventus on a one year deal and the club does have the option to extend it for a further year. Following an injury to Hector Bellerin, the 35 year old was expected to be the preferred choice on the right side of the defence.

But Ainsley Maitland-Niles stepped up in the situation and since then has been extensively used by Unai Emery this season. Lichsteiner has started just 10 games in the Premier League and has been featured six times in the Europa League.

He said, “I see it being quite difficult to stay but we are going to see what happens.

“I don’t know anything. The only important thing is the Europa League Final now.

“I really want to win this cup and bring this club back to the top level, back to the Champions League and winning important titles.”
