Arsenal have made some expensive signings in the last few years. Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are among them. But how is Arsenal able to make these signings despite their business policies.
Arsenal managing director Vinai Venkatesham has explained how Arsenal are able to make big-money signings.
Arsenal managing director Vinai Venkatesham says that the Arsenal’s vow to encourage youngsters will permit them to make more ambitious additions to the team.
Venkatesham told the Strait Times, “First, it is financially efficient. The more players you have coming from the academy, the more funds you can then use to invest in the transfer window because you then have a budget that is being stretched among fewer players.
“More important than that is we want players in the dressing room who really understand what it means to play for Arsenal, players who have grown up with the club.”
